Have you ever asked your up-line how you should start your network or online marketing program? I’ll bet the answers were many and varied.

Let’s start there. There aren’t many people in your up-line who will even tell you this, never the less, it’s the “shocking truth”. The mindset of the old traditional marketer was probably set before the computer age (some picked it up even after that) and, believe it or not, it is still being taught out there today.

Here it is…

There are tons of people in this business who are told by their up-lines to make a list of friends and family, then go out and start hounding them about how great their opportunity is. Just maybe, they’ll “get” some of them to work the business.

Or perhaps, they told you to go out and make a ton of flyers and pass them out at the mall parking lot or whatever.

Or they may have said, “just keep talking to people and eventually you can get someone into your business”.

Yuck!!!

This is exactly the wrong way of thinking. This is the wrong way to grow your business and bring good people into your organization. A paradigm shift is definitely needed here.

Do not get me wrong, there can be benefit and profit in your warm market, but be aware of the alienation damage that it might incur. By all means, you wouldn’t want your friends and relatives to go unaware or have somebody else tell them about your opportunity, especially, if it would be of benefit to them. Just be careful!

Offline marketing can also be profitable to some extent, but do you want to spend a lot of time and money marketing to the masses or would you rather target your market?

There is one thing that every online marketer must understand thoroughly, and that is:
